Design Vintage Opens In Guildford

Even if you missed the billboards announcing the imminent opening of this independent retailer, the aroma of freshly painted walls revealed the newness of this showroom.

Situated next door to The Ivy on the 1st Floor of Tunsgate Quarter in Guildford, it has the benefit of a town centre location but with plenty of parking.

As such it appeared to be attracting a steady stream of shoppers when I visited.

Displaying a muted colour palette with textures dominating the range, the first impression was that of comfort and freshness.

The abundance of the green fronds of houseplants and natural materials gave a feeling of “bringing the outside in” whilst the addition of aged terracotta pots provided a truly Mediterranean feel.

Hiding behind pillars corner cheeky animal icons punctuated this charming collection of unusual pieces and added an element of fun.

Dark painted vintage cabinetry looked chic amidst the soft velvet daybeds and squishy sofas.

The Guildford flagship store is the second shop to open in the South East and these are soon to be followed by a third in Notting Hill.

It is very refreshing to see a new name on the High Street and I hope they continue to grow.
